Tears to Tiara (ティアーズ・トゥ・ティアラ Tiāzu tu Tiara) is a Japanese visual novel series developed by Leaf/AQUAPLUS. The franchise started with its first tactical RPG released for Windows on April 28, 2005 in Japan.
The game draws heavily from Welsh, Celt, Christian and Roman mythology, with characters named after from Arthurian Legend. Set in a Late Antiquity-inspired fantasy setting, story starts on an island named Erin (or Hibernia, as shown on an in-game map) on the west border of the Holy Empire.

The nefarious "Empire" has began conquering areas around the continent with an iron fist, even beginning to expand its borders across the "Ancient Kingdom".
In the midst, a tribe girl by the name of Riannon was abducted as a sacrifice for the ritual to awaken the "overlord" Riannon's brother, Arthur, springs to the rescue but it was too late, the Overlord "Arawn" has awoken...
